Article 17 of Municipality Law

If a Council member is absent without an acceptable excuse or leaves the meeting permanently without permission from the chair of the meeting, he shall be considered absent from it. If the member's absence during a single session recurs for more than five consecutive meetings or eight non-consecutive meetings without an acceptable excuse, his case shall be submitted to the Council to consider deeming him to have resigned, by a majority of the members constituting the Council, excluding the absent member. If a member fails to attend a meeting of any Council committee without an acceptable excuse for three consecutive meetings or five non-consecutive meetings during a single session, the committee shall refer the matter Law Index 264 Home Page Municipality Law Law No. 33 of 2016 Concerning Kuwait Municipality to the Municipal Council to take its decision thereon.
