Article 48 of Municipality Law

The following powers shall be transferred from the Municipality as follows: 1 - The powers of licensing, supervision and monitoring over the following shall be transferred to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry: a - Advertisements in public places, except directional advertisements. b - Street vendors. 2 - The powers of licensing, supervision and oversight over markets for birds, poultry, live animals and ornamental fish shall be transferred to the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources. 3 - The powers of licensing, supervision and oversight over directional advertisements shall be transferred to the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation. 4 - The powers of licensing, supervision and oversight over scrap sites shall be transferred to the Public Authority for Industry. The administrative, supervisory and technical units currently exercising the powers transferred pursuant to the preceding paragraph shall continue to perform the tasks entrusted to them under the supervision of the Municipality, pending the issuance of a decision by the Council of Ministers, upon the Minister's submission, within one year from the date this Law enters into force, transferring the units to the ministries and authorities to which they belong.
