Article 72 of Social Insurance Law

The share shall terminate in the following cases: 1 - Death of the beneficiary. 2 - Entitlement of the widow of the insured person or pensioner to a share in the pension of her last husband. The son, brother or son's son reaching the age of twenty-six, with the following exceptions: Home Page 845 Index of the Law Social Insurance Law Amiri Order promulgating Law No. 61 of 1976 issuing the Social Insurance Law a - A person incapable of earning a living. b - A student at one of the stages of education beyond secondary education, until he reaches the age of twenty-eight, provided that payment of the share of anyone reaching that age during the academic year shall continue until its end. c - A person who has obtained a university qualification or its equivalent or a higher qualification, until he reaches the age of twenty-eight or takes up employment or engages in an activity in which he is subject to the provisions of Part Five of this Law, whichever is earlier. Article 73 (1) If the daughter, sister or mother is divorced or widowed, or the son or brother becomes incapable of earning a living after the death of the insured person or pensioner, each shall be granted the share to which he or she would have been entitled in the pension—assuming entitlement thereto on the date of death—without prejudice to the rights of the other beneficiaries.
