Article 456 of Commercial Code

1 - A bill of exchange drawn at one or more months from its date or from the date of sight shall mature on the corresponding date of the month in which payment must be made. If the date has no Law Index 1319 Home Page Commercial Law Decree-Law No. 68 of 1980 Promulgating the Commercial Law corresponding date in the month in which payment must be made, maturity shall fall on the last day of the month. 2 - If a bill of exchange is drawn at one and a half months or at several months and a half month from its date or from the date of sight, calculation must begin with the full months, and the expression – half a month - means fifteen days. - The expression ( eight days or fifteen days does not mean one week or two weeks, but actually eight days or fifteen days.
