Article 5 of Commercial Code

Acts relating to the following matters shall be deemed commercial acts, irrespective of the capacity or intention of the person performing them: 1 - Banking transactions. 2 - Current accounts. - Exchange and financial exchanges. 4 - Commercial agency and brokerage. H Bills of exchange, promissory notes, and cheques. 6 - The formation of companies and the sale or purchase of their shares and bonds. - Public warehouses and pledges over property deposited therein. - Extraction of minerals and oils, quarrying of stones, and other sources of natural wealth. 9 - Insurance of its various kinds. 10 - Establishments intended for the public, such as public playing fields, cinemas, hotels, restaurants, and auction establishments. 11 Distribution of water, electricity, and gas, and conducting postal, telegraphic, and telephone communications. 12 - Transport by land, sea, and air. 13 - Business agencies and tourism, export, and import offices. - 14 Printing, publishing, journalism, broadcasting, television, and transmission of news or images Law Index 1255 Home Page Commercial Code Decree-Law No. 68 of 1980 Promulgating the Commercial Code and advertisements, and the sale of books. 15 - Factories, even if associated with agricultural exploitation, and undertakings for construction and manufacture. 16 - Contracts for the construction, alteration, restoration, and demolition of real property, whenever the contractor undertakes to provide raw materials or supply workers.
