Article 530 of Commercial Code

1 - An endorsement subsequent to protest or made after expiry of the period for presenting the cheque shall produce only the effects of an assignment of rights. 2 - An undated endorsement shall be deemed to have been made before the protest was drawn up or before expiry of the cheque's period, unless the contrary is proved. - The date of an endorsement may not be backdated; if this occurs, it shall be considered forgery.
