Article 42 of Title Register Law

The folios of the real-property register shall be recorded with serial numbers. If a folio is cancelled because it was improperly drawn up, torn or defaced, cancellation must be carried out by the head of the competent real-property register office and approved by the controller, provided that the cancellation and its reason are indicated in the register. Cancelled folios shall be retained for fifteen years and destroyed thereafter.
