Article 104 of Code of Civil Procedure

A judge may be recused for any of the following reasons: - a- If he or his wife has an action similar to the action he is hearing. Or if a dispute arises between either of them and one of the litigants or that litigant’s spouse after the action before the judge has commenced, unless that action was brought with the intention of recusing him from hearing the action before him. b - If his divorced wife, by whom he has a child, or any of his relatives or relatives by marriage in the direct line has a dispute pending before the courts with one of the litigants in the action or that litigant’s spouse, unless that dispute was instituted after commencement of the action before the judge with the intention of recusing him. c - If one of the litigants works for him. d - If he has habitually dined or lived with one of the litigants, or has received a gift from that litigant shortly before or after the action was brought. e - If there is enmity or affection between him and one of the litigants such that he is likely to be unable to adjudicate without bias.
