Article 12 of Code of Civil Procedure

Electronic service shall produce its effects from the time receipt of the notice by the person served is established by the competent authority entrusted with its execution, from which it may subsequently be retrieved. Data issued by electronic systems shall be deemed originals in cases where the law requires the procedure to be carried out on the original document, and their lack of the recipient's signature shall not entail nullity. Paper service shall produce its effects from the time the copy is delivered to the person served, or from the time he refuses to receive it or to sign the original acknowledging receipt, provided that the procedures stipulated in the fourth paragraph of Article Nine have been followed.
