Article 145 of Code of Civil Procedure

An appeal against the judgment rendered on the alternative claim necessarily entails an appeal against the judgment rendered on the principal claim. In this case, the party in whose favour judgment was rendered on the principal claim must be joined as a party, even after expiry of the time limit. If the court reverses the judgment rendered on the principal claim, it must remit the case to the court of first instance to decide the alternative claim.
