Article 225 of Code of Civil Procedure

The rules and procedures stipulated in Chapter Four of this Part shall be followed in the precautionary attachment of movables, except those relating to setting the day of sale, unless these movables are liable to perish, in which case the provision of the second paragraph of Article 252 shall be observed. The attaching creditor must serve on the person whose property is attached the attachment record and the order issued therefor, if it has not previously been served upon him, within no more than eight days from the date of levying the attachment; otherwise, it shall be deemed never to have existed. The attaching creditor must also, within the aforementioned period, bring an action before the competent court to establish the right and validate the attachment, in cases where the attachment is by order of the judge; otherwise, the attachment shall be deemed never to have existed. If the action concerning the right has already been brought, the action to validate the attachment shall be submitted to the same court so that it may consider both together. If a judgment validating the attachment is issued and is enforceable or becomes so, the procedures prescribed for sale in Chapter Four of this Part shall be followed, or enforcement shall proceed by delivery of the movable in the case referred to in Article 223.
