Article 12 of Press and Publications Law

The person licensed to publish a newspaper shall submit the following to the Ministry within three months from the date of notification of approval: 1 - Evidence of having deposited with the treasury of the competent Ministry a financial security of one hundred thousand dinars if the newspaper is daily, and twenty-five thousand dinars if otherwise. In lieu of the financial security, a bank guarantee addressed to the competent Ministry and free of any restriction may be submitted. The competent Ministry shall have the right to draw on the security or guarantee to satisfy compensation owed by the establishment, company, or editor-in-chief pursuant to this Law, and the licence holder shall make up the impairment in the guarantee within two months from the date of notification thereof by the competent Ministry. 2 - The name of each of the editor-in-chief and their deputies, and their written consent to accepting this position. 3 - Specification of the date of publication of the first issue of the newspaper, provided that this date does not exceed one year from the date of submission of this statement. 4 - The name of the printing house undertaking the printing of the newspaper and a copy of the printing contract concluded with it. If the licensee fails to fulfil any of the obligations set out in the preceding items, the licence shall be deemed cancelled by operation of law and without the need for any other procedure.
