Article 9 of Electronic Transactions Law

For an electronic document or record to produce its legal effects, the following conditions must be satisfied cumulatively: 1- It must be possible to retain it in the form in which it was created, sent or received, or in any form that facilitates proving the accuracy of the data contained therein upon creation, transmission or delivery. 2- The data contained therein must be capable of retention and storage so that they may be referred to at any time. 5- The data contained therein must indicate the identity of its creator or recipient and the date and time of transmission or receipt. 8- Preservation must be in the form of an electronic document or record in accordance with the conditions and principles specified by the competent authority under whose supervision this activity falls. The provisions of this Article shall not prejudice the provisions of any other law expressly providing for the preservation of a document, record, data or information in electronic form according to a particular electronic processing system or by following particular procedures, or for their preservation or transmission through a particular electronic medium. Nor shall they conflict with any additional requirements prescribed by government authorities for preserving electronic records falling within their jurisdiction.
