Article 39 of Law on the Practice of Medicine and Allied Health Professions

The head of the Agency shall form a committee or committees to consider the matters referred to them by the aforementioned entities, provided that their members possess experience and specialization in what is entrusted to them, as follows: 1 - Three physicians who are specialists or have sufficient medical experience to decide the matter presented to the Agency. 2 - A lawyer from the Department of Legal Advice and Legislation whose rank is not below Assistant Counsellor, or a professor of law from a faculty of rights or law, or any specialist in the field of law with practical or professional experience of not less than fifteen years. 3 - A medical expert from a faculty of medicine who is a specialist or has experience in the field of the matter presented to the Agency. 4 - A physician specializing in occupational health. 5 - A forensic physician. The Agency shall assign to each committee a legal researcher to assist it in carrying out legal procedures, and an administrative employee to perform secretarial work. The head of the Agency may change the number of committee members, provided that their number is not less than five and that its composition is odd-numbered, including the categories referred to in this Article. They shall be selected according to the nature of the matter presented and its effects.
