Article 36 of Law on the Practice of Medicine and Allied Health Professions

An agency called (the Medical Liability Agency shall be established and shall have legal personality and an attached budget. The Agency shall be headed by a full-time physician of no lower than consultant level, appointed at the grade of ministry undersecretary, assisted by a full-time physician as his deputy appointed at the grade of assistant ministry undersecretary. A decree appointing the head and his deputy shall be issued by the Council of Ministers upon the Minister’s nomination, for a non-renewable term of four years. The Minister shall seek the views of the Ministry’s senior officials and relevant public-benefit associations before nomination. The head shall represent the Agency before third parties. The Agency and its committees shall have independent premises designated by a decision of the Council of Ministers.
