Article 59 of Law on the Practice of Medicine and Allied Health Professions

The holder of a private health facility license must appoint a director who shall be technically responsible for it and shall actually supervise the management of its medical activities, in accordance with the following controls: 1 - He must be a practitioner of the profession and licensed to practice it. 2 - He must not have previously been judicially convicted of an offense involving dishonor or breach of trust. 3 - His period of residence in the State must not be less than nine months of each year. 4 - He must not be the director of more than one health facility or more than one branch thereof. 5 - He must have experience in the field of management or the facility's activity. 6 - Obtaining the Ministry's prior approval. The Ministry shall determine the cases and private health facilities in which a deputy director must be appointed, provided that he meets the same conditions applicable to the director, in accordance with the nature, type and capacity of their medical services. The Ministry may add other controls.
