Article 60 of Law on the Practice of Medicine and Allied Health Professions

The management of every health facility shall establish a register and database in which all information concerning its patients is recorded in a written or electronic file, in accordance with the provisions of this Law. The management must preserve those files and protect them against damage and loss. If the health facility closes or changes its activity for any reason, it must hand over patients' files or copies thereof to the patient personally or his relatives upon request, while retaining evidence thereof during the period and with the entity specified by a decision of the Minister. The heirs shall be bound by this in the event of the licensee's death.
