Article 5 of Decree-Law No. 128 of 1992 concerning the Supplementary Insurance Scheme

At the request of the insured person, the following periods may be credited: 1 - Periods of actual service preceding the date this Law comes into operation during which the insured person was subject to basic insurance, on the assumption that supplementary insurance was in effect during them. " A decision shall be issued by the Minister specifying the amounts contributed by the Public Treasury for the account of the periods credited pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph and the manner of their payment. " 2 - Notional periods. - Previous periods of participation in supplementary insurance for which a retirement gratuity has previously been paid. Each of those periods shall be credited in the cases and in accordance with the rules and conditions prescribed by a decision issued by the Minister after the approval of the Board of Directors.
