Article 9 of Decree-Law No. 13 of 2026 concerning Safeguarding and Protecting the Supreme Interests of Military Entities

The force assigned to guard protected areas within military entities shall have the power to take all necessary measures to secure and protect these areas, including stop procedures, administrative searches and verification of entry permits. In the event of hostile activity, an abnormal situation or a crime occurring within these areas, the force shall have the power to detain persons until the arrival of the competent authorities, Law Index 465 Home Page Law on the Protection of the Supreme Interests of Military Entities Decree-Law No. 13 of 2026 Concerning Securing and Protecting the Supreme Interests of Military Entities and to impound vehicles and movable property, subject to the controls, procedures and safeguards stipulated in the aforementioned Criminal Procedure and Trials Law and the laws and international treaties concerning certain persons, places or buildings.
