Article 111 of Civil Code

A natural guardian or appointed guardian must be upright and competent, and must also be an adult of sound judgment, not interdicted for insanity, mental deficiency, heedlessness, or prodigality, and must not have been declared bankrupt unless rehabilitated. All this is without prejudice to other conditions required by law or Islamic Sharia.
