Article 377 of Civil Code

1 - An assignment of debt transfers the debt from the liability of the original debtor to the liability of the transferee. 2 - The assignment is restricted if payment under it is restricted to specific property belonging to the transferor or a debt owed to the transferor by the transferee, and is unrestricted if payment is not restricted to any of these, even if the debtor has a debt or specific property held by the transferee from which payment can be made.
