Article 221 of Code of Criminal Procedure and Trials

If multiple judgments imposing fixed-term imprisonment are rendered against a single accused person, sentences of imprisonment with labour shall be served before sentences of simple imprisonment. In both cases, the sentences shall be served consecutively, each after the other has ended, in the order in which they were rendered. Nevertheless, the court may order that the execution of one sentence overlap with the execution of another, and the total served under all these judgments must not exceed twenty years. However, overlapping execution of sentences may not be ordered if a sentence of imprisonment is imposed for an offence committed while a previous sentence of imprisonment was being served. In this case, the total served under the judgments may exceed twenty years.
