Article 287 مكررا أ of Jaafari Personal Status Law

If the deceased bequeathed to a person entitled to a mandatory bequest more than his share, the excess shall be a voluntary bequest; if he bequeathed to him less than his share, the amount completing it shall be due to him. If he bequeathed to some of those entitled to a mandatory bequest but not to others, the amount of his share shall be due to anyone to whom he did not bequeath. The share of anyone to whom he did not bequeath shall be taken, and the share of anyone to whom he bequeathed less than what was due shall be completed, from the remainder of the one-third. If that is insufficient for this purpose, then from it and from that which is allocated to the voluntary bequest.
