Article 266 of Commercial Code

English translation

1 - The agent shall have a preferential lien over the goods and other things that the principal sends to the agent, deposits with the agent, or delivers to the agent, immediately upon dispatch, deposit, or delivery. 2 - This preferential lien shall secure the agent’s remuneration and all amounts due to the agent by reason of the agency, together with interest thereon, whether these amounts were paid before delivery of the goods or things or while they were in the agent’s possession. - The preferential lien shall arise regardless of whether the debt arose from acts relating to the goods or things still in the agent’s possession or to other goods or things previously sent to the agent, deposited with the agent, or delivered to the agent for safekeeping. - If the goods or things subject to the preferential lien are sold and delivered to the purchaser, the agent’s preferential lien shall transfer to the price.
