The client's right to demand from his lawyer the papers and documents deposited with him shall lapse after three Gregorian years have elapsed from the date of completion of his assignment, unless the client requests them before the expiry of that period by recommended )registered( letter accompanied by an acknowledgment of receipt, in which case the period for lapse shall commence from the date of that letter. )1(
