Article 114 of Code of Civil Procedure

English translation

Once pleadings in the action have concluded, the court shall adjudicate it or defer the delivery of judgment to another imminent hearing that it shall designate. It may not thereafter defer the delivery of judgment more than twice. Whenever the court designates a hearing for pronouncement of judgment, it may not defer delivery of judgment or reopen the case for pleadings except by a decision announced by the court at the hearing and entered in its minutes. Pronouncement of this decision shall constitute notification to the litigants of the new date, unless the successive conduct of the aforementioned hearings is interrupted for any reason, in which case the court registry must notify the litigants of the new date by registered letter.
