Article 13 of Traffic Law

If the vehicle's owner dies or is judicially declared missing, his heirs or their representative shall notify the General Traffic Department thereof within sixty days from the date of death or the date of the judgment and provide the name of the person responsible for the vehicle. If the vehicle passes to one of the heirs, he shall, within a week, take the procedures to transfer its licence into his name. Article 14 (2) The Minister of Interior may, by a decision issued by him, determine the number of motor vehicles to be licensed (1) Added by Law No. 52 of 2001 (2) Amended by Decree-Law No. 5 of 2025 Law Index 322 Home Page Traffic Law Decree-Law No. 67 of 1976 concerning Traffic at the General Traffic Department, of all types except type (1), paragraph (First), of Article (3), namely private cars for citizens only. No vehicle of the vehicles whose number is fixed by a ministerial decision may be licensed after that number has been reached. He may also determine the fare tariff for taxis and transport vehicles of all types. Part Three Driving Licences Article 15 (1) No motor vehicle may be driven on the road without obtaining a driving licence from the General Traffic Department authorizing its holder to drive such a vehicle. The Executive Regulations of this Law shall specify the types of driving licences and permits, the conditions for their issuance, their validity periods, the rules for their renewal, the amount of fees payable for them, and the organization of the procedures therefor, and shall set out cases of their cancellation and refusal to grant them and the provisions concerning members obtaining them. The following are excepted from the provisions of the first paragraph: 1 - Holders of military driving licences issued to them after a technical driving test conducted by the competent technical military authorities; these military licences confer on their holders the right to drive military vehicles only. 2 - Foreign visitors and tourists holding valid foreign driving licences. This shall be in accordance with the arrangements and conditions regulated by the Executive Regulations of this Law.
