Article 15 of Public Funds Protection Law

Any public official, employee or worker who retains for himself and for the account of another originals or copies of official documents belonging to any of the entities provided for in Article Two and relating to any of the offences mentioned in this Law, whether papers or other items relating to the entity for which he works or previously worked, even if they concern work with which he was personally entrusted, and fails promptly to submit them to the investigating authorities despite knowing that an investigation is being conducted into one of these offences, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years and a fine of not less than two thousand dinars and not more than twenty thousand dinars, or either of these two penalties. The penalty shall be imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year and a fine not exceeding two thousand dinars, or either of these two penalties, if the accused is not a current or former worker of the victim entity. Anyone who delivers what he holds of the items mentioned in the first paragraph before the conclusion of the aforementioned investigation shall be exempt from punishment.
