Article 65 of Law on the Practice of Medicine and Allied Health Professions

The patient must leave the health facility after receiving the care and medical services necessary for his condition and immediately upon being authorized to leave by his treating physician or the physician supervising him. The director of the health facility may discharge the patient from it by a decision issued by him on the basis of a report establishing that the patient has received the necessary medical treatment and that his health condition is stable. Three specialist physicians must approve his discharge, provided that they are among those supervising, responsible for, or acquainted with the patient's condition and treatment, and that their signatures are recorded in the report. The decision shall take effect after two days have elapsed following its issuance and notification thereof to the patient or his legal representative. In all cases, patients who are unable to care for themselves shall not be authorized to leave unless it is established that the necessary health care will be provided to them after their departure from the health facility. The facility's administration shall undertake to verify this and may seek assistance from other government entities in this regard. The foregoing shall not preclude transferring the patient Index of the Law 773 Home Page Law on the Practice of Medicine and Allied Professions Law No. 70 of 2020 concerning the Practice of Medicine and Its Allied Professions, Patients' Rights and Health Facilities to another health facility or taking other procedures or measures.
