Article 54 of Social Insurance Law

The provisions of this insurance shall not apply to: 1 - Anyone under eighteen or over sixty-five years of age, unless engaged in the activity upon reaching the latter age, until completion of the period necessary for entitlement to a retirement pension or termination of participation, whichever is earlier. 2 - Persons subject to the provisions of Part Three of this Law and recipients of retirement pensions and pensions payable pursuant to the provisions of the Military Retirement Pensions and Gratuities Law. Nevertheless, the pension recipients referred to may request suspension of payment of their retirement pensions and participate voluntarily in this insurance, in accordance with the conditions and rules prescribed by a decision of the Minister following approval of the Board of Directors.
